5 Ways to Self Care When You Have Zero Time

Did you know I have 5 ways to self care when you have zero time? These are super simple, no fancy equipment required, tested, proven ways to take a minute, even if you are super busy! They work for working women, stay at home women, they work in the grocery store, in your office, at a red light. I promise I got you!

After you read this post, be sure you download my free checklist so you're armed and ready when you feel like you can't go on another second!

First on my list... Look at something. I know you're thinking I sound crazy, but hear me out. We see a million and one things a day, but when is the last time you truly looked at something? Look out the window and see how each object casts a shadow in the sunshine. If you aren't near a window, look at a painting or an object on your desk and notice it. See the color and the design, take it in. This is a great way to calm the storm that is your mind! Get yourself grounded.

Second thing... Breathe. Yes, I know. You're already breathing! But it's involuntary and sometimes we take it for granted. Focus on the breath you take in. See that breath going into your lungs, feel your chest rise. Then, see that oxygen head through your Pulmonary Artery into your heart. See it pushed out of your heart into your Aorta. Some of that oxygen is headed for your Brain. Some is headed for your little pinky toe. When it gets to its destination, it tags its worn out counterpart and sends the tired blood cell back to your heart to grab more Oxygen. It's really an amazing process!

Third, we're going to stretch. I'm not talking middle school PE class, here, but you want to wake up those muscles and get the blood flowing. Put your arms in the air and slowly stretch left and then right. Turn your head all the way left, all the way right. Pull your knees up to your chest one at a time (okay, not if you're in a skirt!). Pull your ankle up to your hand and stretch your thigh muscles. You'll be feeling like a million bucks in no time!

Fourth thing...Write. Take all of the clutter out of your brain and put it into a note. Type it on your phone, write it with a pen and paper, whatever suits you best. But when you get the noise out of your mind, you can focus more on what you were doing! I start every single day with a list and I add and check things off as I think of them or complete them. It's so therapeutic for me not to have to keep up with all of those things in my head!

And Fifth and last, but absolutely not least. Get a cup of coffee (or tea, matcha, cocoa, whatever makes you happy!!)! Head to your kitchen or breakroom, make a cup. Feel the warmth of the mug, smell the beautiful aroma, drink it while it's warm! I know, that's a big one. My coffee almost always ends up cold, but I'm urging you to enjoy the moment.

Each of these things take about a minute, with the exception of the coffee, so I know you can use these 5 ways to self care when you have zero time! Now that you know the method to my madness, download my quick guide here! Save it on your phone (I use my lock screen), print it and hang it where you need it most (mirror, fridge, office desk), and most of all USE IT!!! Which of these 5 Ways to Self Care When You Have Zero Time can you put to use today?
